On the afternoon of November 25, inauguration ceremony of third runway was held at Hong Kong International Airport. Song Zhiyong, Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), sent congratulatory message via video.
Song Zhiyong said that CAAC will, under the guiding principle of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, continue to support the development of Hong Kong's civil aviation industry, deepened exchanges and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong in the field of civil aviation, and further integration of Hong Kong into the overall development of the country.
It took six years to build the third runway and complete the supporting projects at Hong Kong International Airport through reclamation. During the construction process, CAAC has provided strong support in airspace optimization, navigation radio frequency, flight inspection and other aspects. The successful completion and operation of the third runway project at Hong Kong International Airport will lay a solid foundation for the airport to operate three runways and further consolidate and enhance Hong Kong's status as an international aviation hub.
